Featherbed Fruits aims to use the latest technologies to grow strawberries all year round in a climate controlled greenhouse

The greenhouse spans 87,120 sq ft (2 acres) and can hold up to 76,800 strawberry plants at any one time. All our plants are grown in a hydroponic system consisting of coconut husk  and are irrigated with rainfall that is collected from the roof of the greenhouse.

The temperature and humidity of the greenhouse is cleverly monitored using our climate controller to ensure the optimum growing conditions for the strawberry plants all year round.

We use a range of biological controls, such as specific predators, to help minimise the use of pesticides within the greenhouse. These predators will feed on the insects that are harmful to strawberry plants to help maximise production and ensure all the fruits are big, red and delicious.
